Public Safety in East Orange

Public safety is the foundation of a strong and thriving community. In East Orange, we’ve seen progress—but we must continue to work together to ensure every resident feels secure in their neighborhood, their school, and their home.

As your mayor, I will lead with a vision of safety rooted in community-oriented policing—where trust, communication, and mutual respect guide every interaction between law enforcement and the people they serve. Our officers should be visible, accessible, and deeply connected to the communities they patrol—not just responding to crime, but working proactively to prevent it.

We will strengthen collaboration between the police force and residents by creating regular community safety forums, enhancing neighborhood patrols, and building partnerships with local organizations and youth groups. Public safety is not just about enforcement—it’s about engagement, prevention, and accountability.

By investing in violence prevention programs, mental health support, and officer training, we can foster a safer, more united East Orange—where safety is a shared responsibility and every resident’s voice is heard.

Affordable Housing

A thriving city begins with stable housing. In East Orange, every family deserves access to safe, quality, and affordable places to live—whether renting or owning. But rising costs have made it harder for too many residents to call our city home.

As your mayor, I will fight to ensure affordable rental costs and homeownership solutions for all families, so that no one is left behind. We will work to expand affordable housing options, preserve existing homes, and support first-time homebuyers through education, grants, and partnerships with trusted lenders.

I am committed to responsible development that includes affordability at its core—not just luxury units, but homes everyday working families can afford. We’ll also ensure landlords are held accountable for property maintenance and that tenants know their rights and have access to resources when they need them.

Housing is not a privilege—it’s a right. Together, we can build a city where families can plant roots, grow, and thrive for generations to come.

Economic Development

East Orange has the potential to become a thriving hub of opportunity—where residents have access to good jobs, small businesses flourish, and new investments uplift the entire community. But that future requires intentional leadership and a plan that puts people first.

As your mayor, I will champion economic development that brings new jobs, supports local businesses, and makes East Orange a hub of opportunity for all. We will attract responsible development that contributes to the tax base, and-respects the character of our neighborhoods while creating real pathways for employment and entrepreneurship.

My administration will work closely with business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to expand access to capital, cut through red tape, and offer resources to help local businesses grow and stay rooted in East Orange. We’ll also invest in workforce training programs that prepare residents—especially our youth and returning citizens—for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

Together, we can build a local economy that works for everyone—not just a select few. With your support, East Orange will become a city where opportunity lives on every block.

Transparent, Accountable Government in East Orange, NJ

Trust in government begins with transparency, integrity, and a commitment to results that uplift the entire community. In East Orange, our residents deserve a local government that is open, responsive, and always working in the public’s best interest.

As your mayor, I will lead with a bold commitment to transparency and accountability—ensuring that decisions are made in the open, city resources are managed responsibly, and residents have a voice in shaping our future. We will publish regular reports on city operations, hold public forums, and eliminate backroom politics in favor of inclusive leadership.

Beyond city operations, transparency extends to how we support our schools and youth. To improve our school district’s performance and visibility, I will launch corporate-sponsored intra- and inter-school quiz bowl competitions—engaging students in academic excellence while showcasing the talent in our schools. These initiatives will not only inspire pride and achievement, but also contribute to measurable improvements on our school district report card.
